IL-14T “Blue Dream”
Starting from December 17th, 2010 we are restoring an airplane IL-14T “Blue Dream”, originally located on former Tushino (Moscow) airfield. This plane has been constructed back in 1957 and it’s one of the few planes in the world of IL-14 type to be restored to flying condition and it flew again on May 21st, 2014. The name “Blue Dream” means for us the cherished dream of taking this plane back into the air, that finally came true.
We’ve acquired this airplane on November 28th, 2011. Its name comes from the emblem of a penguin on the vertical stabiliser of the plane. For a long time this beauty stood on Myachkovo airfield (Moscow). It was encumbered by large amounts of overdue parking fees, birds made their nests inside of it. It took us slightly less than a year to bring the plane back to flying state. On October 1st, 2012 our “Penguin” took off again.
